Vein Graphite

Often confused with amorphous graphite, it is the most rare form of graphite. It is the most pure and has the highest level of crystallinity of all the natural graphites, though the structure can only be seen through a microscope or through x-ray diffraction. It typically has a more needle like morphology, and tends to occur in faulted Precambrian rocks as a fracture filling.
