ThermoPURE™ (Purified Graphites and Carbon)



Superior Graphite's ThermoPURE™ product line includes purified natural and synthetic graphite, as well as calcined petroleum coke. These materials are thermally modified using a patented continuous thermal purification process.

ThermoPURE™ products offer high purity and consistency resulting in "Superior" lubrication, thermal and electrical conductivity.

Purified Flake Graphite

Characteristics (Purified Flake Graphite)

Grain Size Distribution: Varies upon grade

Appearance (Purified Flake Graphite)

This material has a silvery sheen after purification. It has excellent thermal and electrical properties, and enhanced lubrication properties as a result of the impurities such as quartz, and iron being removed during the high temperature processing.

Purified Petroleum Coke

Appearance (Purified Petroleum Coke)

Purified Petroleum Coke is produced with Superior Graphite's patented high temperature furnace technology. This continuous process purifies petroleum coke at temperatures in excess of 2760ºC, resulting in the final product. Due to its extremely high purity, particle morphology, and graphitic crystalline structure, it is a unique type of carbon.

Purified Synthetic Graphite

Appearance (Purified Synthetic Graphite)

This material can have a needle-like or blocky structure, with a shiny sheen after purification. The thermal purification process removes hard particulate such as silicon carbide and iron carbides that are typically present from conventional electrode manufacturing. This material exhibits excellent lubrication, and electrical conductivity properties.

Purified Vein Graphite

Appearance (Purified Vein Graphite)

This material has a needle like, silver sheen after purification. It is the most crystalline form of natural graphite available on the market. Thermal purification removes quartz impurities, which are naturally present in the ash. This material exhibits excellent lubrication properties, along with electrical conductivity. Have been proven to be an economical replacement for Molybdenum Disulfide.
