Sinter-Pur Ceramic Powders

Superior Graphite employs state-of-the-art milling technologies to create highly sinterable non-oxide ceramic powders. Sinter-Pur line includes Alpha and Beta Silicon Carbide, and Boron Carbide. We manufacture virgin powders, as well as ready-to-press formulations.

Do you need custom sizes, blends or shapes? We are happy to work with your specifications! Innovating and meeting customer’s needs since 1917, we are a specialty supplier of high-quality ceramic powders and we hold up to the highest standards as an ISO-certified company.

Alpha Silicon Carbide  · Beta Silicon Carbide  · Boron Carbide

Alpha Silicon Carbide

Type (Alpha Silicon Carbide)

Alpha SiC

Characteristics (Alpha Silicon Carbide)

Hexagonal structure, relatively large single crystals, harder than beta, highly sinterable in sub-micron size.

Sharp solid shapes

Application (Alpha Silicon Carbide)

High performance wear parts such as seal rings and pump parts, armor and abrasive applications

Appearance (Alpha Silicon Carbide)

Beta Silicon Carbide

Type (Beta Silicon Carbide)

Beta SiC

Characteristics (Beta Silicon Carbide)

Cubic structure, microcrystalline, wear resistance in coatings and composites, highly sinterable in sub-micron size.

Rounded porous shapes

Application (Beta Silicon Carbide )

High performance wear parts such as seal rings and pump parts, additive to toner for increased flowability and internal printer cleaning, additive to nickel, chrome, aluminum etc. for strength

Appearance (Beta Silicon Carbide)

Boron Carbide

Type (Boron Carbide)

Boron Carbide

Characteristics (Boron Carbide)

Complex crystal structure extremely hard ceramic with a Vickers hardness > 30 MPa and a high cross section for absorbing neutrons.

Application (Boron Carbide)

Wear parts, abrasives (for ultrasonic cutting and lapping), nuclear shielding, ceramic armor, and also used as a sintering aid.
